The property’s previous site lighting was fluorescent lighting. Though fluorescent lighting uses less energy and has a longer life than HID lighting, it does not age well. Fluorescent lighting increasingly flickers and color shifts with age. These lamps also contain the element mercury.
Escondido Promenade was due for an upgrade to LED lighting. WLS stepped in to create a value engineered lighting site plan and proposal for all new LED site lighting. A total of 117 area fixtures were replaced with LED area fixtures which utilized the existing site lighting parking lot poles. All area lighting fixtures include motion sensors to comply with California Title 24 Energy Code. The wall packs, canopy lighting and wall sconces were also upgraded to LED.
